MacEwan University has a long-standing history of providing quality nursing education that prepares graduates to lead and succeed in nursing practice, and beyond. The Faculty of Nursing includes the Departments of Nursing Foundations and Science; Mental Health Nursing and Community Wellness; Integrative Nursing Systems; and Professional Nursing and Allied Health. Courses delivered within these departments are affiliated with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing, The Bridge to Canadian Nursing, and other continuing education credentials and learning experiences. The Faculty of Nursing fosters a learner-centered environment where excellent teaching and clinical expertise are essential to creating a high-quality learning environment for students.

The Faculty of Nursing invites applications for Nurse Educator appointments, commencing August 2025, subject to final budgetary approval. These are recurring-term positions for 10.5 months of the year (typically August to May, depending on course assignments). Nurse Educator appointments include a benefits package.

You will be primarily responsible for clinical instruction in your area of expertise. Lab instruction may also be assigned. Travel is likely required, and candidates must meet the skills and abilities required by the applicable nursing profession(s). Teaching in clinical settings may involve shift hours, as well as necessary certifications and vaccinations.

Applicants should hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in nursing or psychiatric nursing and have at least three (3) years of current registered nursing or psychiatric nursing experience. A graduate degree in nursing or a related field, along with teaching experience, is preferred. All areas of clinical expertise, including but not limited to mental health, obstetrics, community/public health, acute medical/surgical, and perioperative nursing, will be considered. Candidates should possess strong practice knowledge and skills, a commitment to the nursing profession, potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate students, and an interest in ongoing professional development.

Active, unencumbered licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and/or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA) is required.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae/resume, highlighting clinical practice experience and teaching background.
