Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.
Position OverviewThe Shared Health Mental Health and Addictions Early Response Services (MHAERS) is an interdisciplinary team, consisting of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, a Nurse Clinician, a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician, a Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Specialist, a Mental Health and Addiction Educators, an Indigenous Specialist and an Administrative Assistant, who provide timely access to mental health and addiction services for children and youth in schools.
The Nurse Clinician, as a part of the interdisciplinary team, will provide first-line MHA assessment, MHA early interventions, referrals to primary care/ specialized services and step-down follow-up (including medication monitoring), school wellness plans, safety planning, consultation with school staff and teachers, postvention/ step down supports from intensive/ specialized services. and work towards developing capacity for early identification of mental health and addiction problems within the school division.

Under the general direction of the Manager – School Based, and in collaboration with the MHA Clinicians and school social workers, the incumbent is responsible for providing clinical services to children and youth in mental health and addictions or psychosocial crisis.
