The CRNA is responsible for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care of patients requiring anesthesia for surgical, medical, therapeutic, or diagnostic procedures. This includes:
These services are provided in our 16 main operating rooms.
The following clinical responsibilities should be demonstrated by the individual, with additional responsibilities added as education and experience grow:
Care is provided in the main operating rooms and various 'Out of OR' locations such as Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, CT, MRI, MRT, Endoscopy, and Angiography, often in geographically distant areas. These environments involve various electrical, mechanical, gas-driven, radiation, and laser-emitting equipment. Conditions may vary from warm, cold, dimly lit, crowded to spacious and well-lit settings.
