Job summary

Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg is seeking a registered nurse to join the Home Hemodialysis Nursing team, applying the nursing process to assess, care for and educate patients in home and community settings.

The position requires a minimum of three years in nephrology nursing, demonstrated clinical expertise in hemodialysis, CRNM registration and MNNC; a Manitoba driver's license is required with potential travel within the province.

Qualifications

• RN with Manitoba licensure or eligibility.

• Manual driver’s license in Manitoba and own transportation.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the incumbent is responsible for practicing as a member of the Home Hemodialysis Nursing team, utilizing nursing process in the assessment, care and teaching of Home Hemodialysis patient at SOGH, a community facility or in the patient home.

Experience

• Minimum three (3) years in Nephrology Nursing required.
• Evidence of clinical expertise in Hemodialysis required.
• Previous teaching experience an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Manitoba Nephrology Nursing course required (MNNC).
• Successful completion of the Canadian Nurses Association Nephrology certification is preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Current C.R.N.M. registration required.
• CNA Certification in Nephrology Nursing preferred.
• Valid Manitoba driver's licensce required.
• Incumbent must hold a valid Manitoba driver's license , provide own transportation and be free to travel throughout Manitoba.

Physical Requirements

• May be required to occasionally work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

This maternity/parental term may expire sooner than the date indicated, subject to written notice of a minimum two (2) weeks, or one (1) pay period, whichever is longer.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
