Nuclear Services Quality Technician (Inspection) 12-Month Contract

Join us at BWXT Medical as a Nuclear Services Quality Technician (Inspection) for a 12-month contract at our Peterborough, Ontario location.

Qualifications
  • College Diploma as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Technician, or relevant trade certification with Metrology experience.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T and drawing requirements.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and CAD/CAM.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to pass medical exams to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites.
Preferred Skills
  • Nuclear industry experience.
  • Welding and weld inspection expertise.
  • Experience with CMM programming & operation, including PCDMIS software.
  • Product, process, or equipment qualification experience.
  • Electrical assembly inspection experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform receiving inspection of purchased items and materials.
  • Document deficiencies and participate in resolution processes.
  • Inspect manufacturing items at various checkpoints.
  • Calibrate metrology instruments and maintain databases.
  • Conduct final inspections of completed products.
  • Accurately record inspection data and adhere to quality procedures.
Additional Duties
  • Follow policies and ensure high-quality output.
  • Perform daily measurements, provide technical feedback, and make sketches or calculations as needed.
  • Identify safety issues, implement corrective actions, and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Contribute to team goals, communicate effectively, and participate in training activities.
  • Manage work priorities, leverage resources, and meet productivity targets.
  • Make informed decisions based on data and problem-solving skills.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range in Ontario is approximately $83,164 to $102,551, based on experience and qualifications. The total package may include incentives and benefits, details of which will be provided upon offer.
