Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. in Cambridge, Ontario, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical engineering on large nuclear projects, including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and related components.

You will guide engineering staff, coordinate with project managers and suppliers, and ensure designs meet ASME and CSA standards, customer requirements, and budget constraints. With a background in nuclear equipment design and 5–12 years of relevant experience, you will contribute to feasibility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in heat exchanger, pressure vessel, and nuclear equipment design.
  • Knowledge of ASME Codes and CSA N285.0 / N299 standards.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Familiarity with welding procedures and fabrication practices.
  • P.Eng. designation or in-progress is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead department in Code and Standards compliance.
  • Resolve design and manufacture issues for nuclear components.
  • Guide Graphics, Manufacturing Engineering, and Associate Project Engineers.
  • Maintain Component Engineering procedures and staff training.
  • Represent in ASME and customer quality audits.
  • Manage design of steam generators, heat exchangers, pressure vessels.
  • Ensure designs meet all customer, BWXT, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with customers, vendors and regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with feasibility studies and project deliverables within schedule and budget.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications for sublet work.
  • Support proposals: design coordination and quotes.
