Qualifications

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Nuclear Medicine
  • Schedule: PRN, Day Shift
  • Hospital: Saint Thomas Midtown
  • Location: Nashville, TN

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown is a destination for heart and vascular specialty care. We hold a Joint Commission Chest Pain Certification and received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines - AFIB Gold Quality Achievement award for its commitment to managing atrial fibrillation (AFib), ultimately helping to reduce patients' stroke risk. Our Cardiac Service line includes Electrophysiology Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Procedural Care Unit, Interventional Radiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine, Non-Invasive Stress and EKG.

What You Will Do

Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.

  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
  • Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Certified Nuclear Medical Tech obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
