Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. in Cambridge is expanding its manufacturing operations and seeking a qualified Shop Supervisor to lead day-to-day shop activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and cost objectives.

You will coordinate with scheduling, engineering, safety and quality teams, manage personnel per collective agreement, perform safety audits, and drive improvements while maintaining BWXT’s high standards in nuclear manufacturing. This is a key leadership role during a period of growth.

Qualifications

• College diploma or equivalent with maintenance/manufacturing background.
• 5–10 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to build and lead teams to improve performance and reduce cost.
• Critical thinker with a quality-focused approach to problem solving.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Willing to work straight days, afternoons or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shop personnel per collective agreement and maintain professional relations.
• Lead safety meetings, monthly audits, and issue maintenance work orders for unsafe machinery.
• Conduct toolbox talks and PPE training for daily safety.
• Coordinate with scheduling, engineering, safety, and quality teams to meet targets.
• Develop and implement cost-improvement activities and monitor productivity reports.
• Ensure all employees are trained in BWXT procedures and support quality objectives.
