A provincial legal aid organization seeks an Office Manager for their Sydney office. This role includes organizing office administration, supervising staff, and managing vendor relationships. Candidates should have a post-secondary diploma in Legal Administration or Paralegal, with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and time management skills are essential. A competitive salary is offered with a potential for permanency.

Salary: EC 07 ($54,113.28 to $74,406.28)

Nova Scotia Legal Aid Commission (NSLAC) delivers quality legal aid services throughout the Province, providing some level of help to all Nova Scotians with a focus on assisting those who are systematically disadvantaged. NSLAC employs staff in 25 offices and 3 sub-offices throughout the Province. Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Lawyer, the Office Manager will organize and coordinate office administration and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. This role is responsible for developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision, and task delegation. Additionally, the Office Manager may identify potential areas for process improvements and recommend potential solutions. This role will require the ability to work independently and experience in managing a wide range of administrative duties. The Office Manager must be reliable, flexible, people-oriented, friendly, patient, fast learning, quick thinking, a creative problem solver, illustrate initiative and responsibility.
