A prominent political party in Saskatchewan is seeking a Northern Organizer to enhance engagement with constituencies and support election preparations. The role involves representing the party at events, building relationships with constituency executives, and facilitating operational planning. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365, with responsibilities requiring travel and flexible hours.
NORTHERN ORGANIZER- POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Northern Organizer must be able to motivate, communicate with, and build strong relationships with constituency executives, Party supporters and MLA’s. They must possess the ability to problem solve, resolve conflict, and build consensus. The core responsibility is ensuring that constituencies stay focused on preparing for the next general election.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Act as a representative of the Party at annual general meetings, constituency executive meetings, fundraising events, training workshops, and social events.
-Maintain regular contact with constituency presidents/executives via phone, email and in-person.
-Ensure constituencies hold AGM’s in accordance with the Party constitution.
-Maintain full constituency executives and encourage regular monthly meetings.
-Develop with constituencies yearly operational plans. These plans will include fundraising activities, preparations for the next election, and strategies for membership recruitment and retention.
-Inform of and encourage constituencies to participate in Party events, fundraising initiatives, and other central Party activities.
-Provide advice, guidance, and direct support to constituency initiatives and events.
-Provide support and planning for constituency/campaign doorknocking, including training for database software (COMPASS) and Doorknocking mobile application (C2G).
-Assist in the planning and execution of Party special events ie: Convention, Leaders Dinners, Workshops and Provincial Council Meetings as required.
KEY COMPETENCIES
This is a position based in Saskatoon, SK that provides support to the Saskatchewan Party Headquarters in Regina, SK. This position requires extensive travel, and requires work functions/engagements outside of the standard operational hours of 8:00am-4:30pm. This position regularly requires work outside of these hours in the evening between 6:00pm and 9:00pm,and requires travel outside of Saskatoon between 6-12 days per month. The position is 37.5 hours per week, on a Monday-Friday schedule, with work on weekends 4-8 days per year. Compensation is dependent on experience, to be negotiated on employment offer.
