Job summary

Emergency Health Services in Alberta is seeking a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) for a multisite role supporting High Level and Rainbow Lake. You will assess emergency scenes, transport patients, and deliver BLS care, with assignments across two northern communities as required by operations.

The role requires non-restricted PCP registration, BCLS CPR, a Class 4 Alberta Driver's Licence, and successful completion of the F.A.R.E. test. Expect exposure to challenging conditions and remote travel.

Qualifications

• Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR certification.
• Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence, or equivalent, and provide a five-year driver abstract, current within six months and with no more than six demerits, prior to commencing work.
• Proof of F.A.R.E. test required for applicants who do not already hold a clinical position within EHS.
• F.A.R.E. test must be completed no more than six months prior to the date of the job offer.
• Candidates must be qualified to perform full operational duties as of the start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport between facilities.
• Administer minor medications and provide BLS care during transport.
• Lead BLS crew during patient transport or at scenes.
• Ensure ambulances and NET units are stocked and equipped per standards.
• Work in demanding environments with exposure to heat, cold, rain, and remote locations.
