Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for our North Vancouver industrial client. You will oversee OH&S and security, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires strong safety leadership.

Qualifications

• University degree in safety or related field, or equivalent OH&S training.
• CRSP designation or pursuing certification in safety.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of safety practices (lockout/tagout, confined space, inspections, hazard assessments).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office, reporting tools).

Responsibilities

• Ensure site compliance with government regulations.
• Implement company-wide policies at the site.
• Develop and maintain site plans, policies, procedures, and CI improvements.
• Develop and deliver site training programs including emergency response.
• Lead regulatory reporting and required documentation.
• Keep site leadership and head office informed of issues.
• Ensure CIAC requirements compliance.
• Promote a positive safety culture and report hazards.
• Coordinate responsibilities across site staff and contractors.
• Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee and liaise with Plant Manager.
• Lead and support incident investigations and prepare reports.
• Analyze site KPI trends and performances.
• Coordinate with government, community and emergency responders.
• Integrate annual safety plans with site safety plan.
• Follow up on assigned actions.
