Schedule : Monday-Friday, 1st shift, $17.25 / hour

Position Purpose :

The Shred-it Route Driver provides industry-leading service to clients by managing all customer document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely, in accordance with company policies and all applicable laws. Responsibilities include loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring cargo safety before transport.

Key Job Activities :

• Performs onsite / offsite document destruction of confidential information.
• Conducts pre / post-trip vehicle checks and driver check-in procedures.
• Reports maintenance issues to the Transportation / Dispatcher.
• Operates equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and damage.
• Complies with all laws regarding driver fitness and hours of service, including maintaining DOT logs when applicable.
• Ensures security when handling documents and locking consoles / containers.
• Uses handheld devices to service accounts, ensuring barcode accuracy and up-to-date locations.
• Manages routes to ensure timely and accurate service of customer materials.
• Responds promptly to customer inquiries and issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education :

Preferred : High School diploma or equivalent.

• At least 3 years of experience, preferably with shred / box trucks and route management.
• Valid driver’s license (Class D or above) with a clean driving record.
• May require immunizations and credentials based on customer needs.
• English proficiency sufficient to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports.

• Medical Examiners Certification
