Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Limited in Mississauga is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector B to utilize testing equipment and detect discontinuities in parts of various compositions and materials.

The role involves performing fluorescent penetrant, magnetic particle, and ETCH inspections, conducting NDT system checks, and documenting results. A Certified NDT Technician with a 2-year college diploma and 3–5 years of experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2 year College Diploma with 3–5 years' experience and 150 hours minimum classroom.
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Office.
• Vision and colour test must be passed annually.
• Requires valid Orenda Inspector Qualification tickets for FPI, MPI and ETCH per MIL-STD-410, NDTQ and QCI 9-26.

Responsibilities

• Perform all operational functions of manual lines of Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and ETCH inspections as required, in accordance with Quality Control Instructions to disclose flaws and determine acceptability.
• Perform NDT system checks to Quality Control Instructions; set up equipment and ensure proper processing per IMS and R&O instructions; maintain inspection records and reports.
• Work to drawings, operation sheets and instructions from NDT Supervisor.
• When necessary, perform Level-1 operator duties.

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector B. The purpose of this position is to utilize testing equipment to detect discontinuities in parts of various compositions & materials.
Compensation: $34.13/hour

Essential Responsibilities

• The following work is usually appropriate to this classification:
• Perform all operational functions of manual lines of Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle and ETCH inspections as required, in accordance with Quality Control Instructions to disclose flaws, ascertain their type, size and location, and therefore establish acceptability status of parts through evaluation to applicable quality standard.
• Perform NDT system checks to Quality Control Instructions. Set up equipment and ensure that parts are properly processed to the designated IMS and/ or R&O instruction, maintain records of inspection results, logs and inspection reports.
• Work to drawings, operation sheets, oral and written instructions of NDT Supervisor.
• When necessary, perform Level- 1 operator duties.
