SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

NNEC is a non-profit educational organization. Under the direction of the Sioux Lookout District Chiefs, NNEC delivers secondary and post-secondary education programs and services for First Nations people. NNEC operates Pelican Falls First Nations High School, Pelican Falls Centre, Pelican Falls Wellness Centre, Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School, Wahsa Distance Education Centre and has offices in Lac Seul (head office), Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay. NNEC welcomes applications for the following position:

NNEC ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK

The Summer Student, under the direction of the Education Director or designate, will primarily be responsible to assist with different administrative duties in the Post Secondary, Human Resources and Education Departments. This position will work to ensure accuracy, and consistency always. This position must adhere to always working with strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional organizational skills while paying attention to detail.
  • Proficiency and experience in Microsoft word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic to handle confidential information.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently during peak periods
  • A sensitivity to and understanding of First Nations culture, lifestyles and traditions

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all program documents and ensure everything is filed accordingly
  • File room maintenance
  • Assist Post Secondary counsellors with student travel
  • Maintain the social media platforms for the Post secondary program
  • Ensure PO’s and expenses are submitted accurately and on time
  • Assist with printing and photocopying
  • Manage phone calls, collect/provide information as requested
  • Assist with meeting coordination and events
  • Other Duties as required

SALARY: To be determined based on experience
