Job summary

Northern Lights College is seeking a Communication & Events Specialist to develop and coordinate strategic communications for the Foundation Office. Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to groups, manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and foster strong working relationships with employees and departments.
  • Valid driver's license.

Job description

Term of App't: Monday - Thursday, 17.5 hours per week (until August 31, 2026)

Start date: Immediately

Reporting to: Executive Director, Northern Lights College Foundation

Salary:

Classification 12, $26.29 – $30.17/hour per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits and 6% vacation pay included with each pay period.

Description:

The NLC Foundation Communication & Events Specialist will develop, coordinate, compile and distribute information related to Foundation Office.

This role will coordinate event logistics for interviews, cheque presentations and other special events including those related to existing and new campaigns.

The NLC Foundation Communication & Events Specialist will monitor all media coverage related to the various campaigns and will make recommendations for increased and improved media coverage. You will prepare the general content for the department's marketing strategies, including both web-based and promotional pieces, which will include newsletters, social media, brochures, student, and donor profiles.

Ideal schedule: Monday – Wednesday 8:30am – 1:00pm and Thursday 8:30am – 12:30pm.
