Job summary

Extendicare (Canada) Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a permanent full-time night shift (2300-0700) at our Fredericton, NB location. Reporting to the Director of Care, you will provide planned, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.

You will collaborate with an inter-professional team, maintain accurate documentation, manage care plans, medications, and admissions while adhering to Extendicare policies and preserving resident dignity and safety.

Qualifications

• Current registration as Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable province/state.
• Experience working in a seniors environment; unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/long‑term care an asset.
• Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification; computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care and medication/treatment administration per standards.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate resident care/service plans with the team.
• Coordinate care conferences and participate as applicable.
• Respond to changes in resident condition and emergencies; provide first aid.
• Delegate to and supervise unregulated care providers.
• Ensure documentation and regulatory compliance; manage drug orders and safety.
