National Diabetes Trust seeks a Garbage Run Driver in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This full-time role features an overnight shift, a starting hourly wage of $19 and a $1,500 signing bonus. You will operate a 16‑foot straight truck, collection routes, and delivery to drop-off sites while representing the charity with professionalism.

You must have a valid Class 5 license, strong map-reading and customer service skills, and the ability to work safely and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
• Must have Full Class 5 and/or G license or higher.
• Minimum 5 years actual driving experience; 2 years with professional training.
• Clean driver abstract < 21 days old; no violations or accidents in 3 years.
• Ability to read maps and map routes for efficient pickup.
• Strong English language skills and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Drive established routes to collect garbage from donation bins.
• Deliver items to the waste drop-off site.
• Complete daily logs and hours-of-service paperwork.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain safety and compliance with laws.
