Night Manager

What you will be doing :
Reporting to the Director of Front Office, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervision of all colleagues under their direction including Front Office overnight, Housekeeping, overnight Stewarding, and overnight Security.
- Supervision and performance of all night audit functions ensuring proper balancing and control of hotel revenue (rooms and food & beverage).
- Ensuring compliance with Rooms internal audit standard operating procedures, including reporting requirements; executing action plans to improve compliance rates.
- Representing management during the midnight shift by ensuring hotel policies and standards are maintained.
- Maximizing rooms revenue by balancing average rate and occupancy.
- Participating in room forecasting, yield, and inventory management.
- Responsible for room allocation, balancing inventory, and flagging potential challenges to Revenue Management.
- Staying current with industry trends and making improvement recommendations.
- Demonstrating excellent guest service and maintaining high employee relations.
- Providing supervision, training, development, performance counseling, motivation, and empowerment to employees.
- Gathering and analyzing guest feedback, compiling daily reports on reviews and trends for management use.
- Acting as a key member of the Hotel Leadership Team.
- Managing nightly network maintenance and End-of-Day functions.
- Managing payroll system for Front Office ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Activating the crisis management team to ensure safety of guests and staff, maintaining a safe environment.
- Conducting safety drills and exercises in partnership with Security.
- Ensuring all health and safety standards are met, providing colleagues with necessary tools.
- Touring hotel areas, conducting quality audits, and reporting deficiencies.
- Driving change and continuous improvement in Front Office/Night operations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Previous Front Office supervisory experience, with knowledge of Front Office systems.
- Strong personal initiative and results-oriented mindset.
- Accounting experience is an asset.
- Excellent revenue management knowledge.
- Guest service orientation, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Highly organized, flexible, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills to guide employees toward departmental goals.
- Commitment to health and safety.
- Experience in a supervisory role within Rooms Division.
- Post-secondary education in Hotel Management is a strong asset.
- Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
Additional Information :
- Physical aspects include constant standing and walking.
Visa Requirements : Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist with work authorization.
