Join The Henry Public House - We're Hiring a Night Coach/Supervisor!
Location: Cloverdale, BC

The Henry Public House is looking for an experienced Night Coach/Supervisor to join our team! If you're a skilled kitchen leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering quality food and excellent guest service, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role:
As a Night Coach/Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations during the evening shifts. You'll have the autonomy to make key decisions that directly impact the guest experience, food quality, and the overall success of the kitchen.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure all positions execute nightly routines, complete checklists, and log reports
  • Assisting with kitchen recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training and development of kitchen staff
  • Conducting monthly environmental audits in compliance with JRG and local health standards, covering all kitchen areas including cooking lines, prep areas, storage, coolers/freezers, etc.
  • Assisting with controlling food costs by managing portion control, minimizing waste, and conducting weekly inventory counts while investigating variances
  • Tracking QSA's (Quality Service Audits) and providing follow-up training to ensure continuous improvement
  • Assisting with scheduling, managing overtime, and ensuring labour targets are met based on sales forecasts
  • Ensuring the kitchen maintains high levels of food quality and presentation, in line with company standards
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of 5 or more kitchen staff during evening shifts, ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive work environment
Conditions:
  • Hours and shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Work is performed in both the kitchen and office environments

Requirements
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
A strong ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team
Knowledge of food safety and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food quality
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and leadership
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Food Safe Level 1 certification required, Occupational First Aid Level 1 considered an asset
