The Hotel Night Auditor will be responsible for conducting a nightly audit, balancing and consolidating departmental ledger accounts, and preparing various hotel operating reports. They are required to work the night shift at the front desk.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent in English and French (preferred)
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
  • Completion of a two-year apprenticeship or college program in front desk operations or hotel management (preferred)
  • Experience in customer service and people management
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Understanding of accounting practices and principles
  • Ability to analyze client needs and offer appropriate solutions
  • Conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with departments, partners, and customers
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

DUTIES:

  • Maintain inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments
  • Register guests and assign rooms
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services and respond to guest complaints
  • Compile and check daily records, guest accounts, and receipts
  • Present charges to departing guests and process payments
  • Post daily charges and manage floats and revenue from cashiers
  • Securely lock away keys and floats from departments
  • Prepare and post credit card summaries
  • Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance
