We are hiring for our NICU Specialty Training today!

Join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and become part of a sophisticated team delivering the highest level of life-saving care in the province!

BC Women’s Neonatal Program provides advanced neonatal care within a model of integrated patient and family-centered care. Our nurses are trained, assigned, and provide optimal care in all areas:

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): BC Women’s largest NICU, the only quaternary referral center for the province, providing specialized neonatal intensive care for critically ill newborns with complex medical needs in BC and Yukon.
  • Mother Baby Care (MBC): A unique pod within the NICU, the first of its kind in Canada, where mothers and newborns receive coordinated postpartum and neonatal care in the same room.

Our comprehensive specialty training program includes:

  • Employer-paid BCIT courses
  • On-site clinical shifts
  • Preceptor shifts
  • Ongoing education and support

What you bring

  • Graduation from an approved program of Nursing Education
  • Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current CPR and Newborn Resuscitation Certification
  • Neonatal Theory 1 from BCIT or completion of BCIT Neonatal Nursing Course diploma (or equivalent) preferred
  • Awareness of and commitment to understanding the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action, In Plain Sight Report, BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, and related reports
  • Commitment to reconciliation efforts as per TRC and BC’s Indigenous Rights legislation
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical factors impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism initiatives

Job Details

  • Type: Regular Full Time
  • Wage: $41.42/hr - $59.52/hr
  • Location: 4500 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC
