Job summary

Rawlco Radio is seeking a passionate journalist to grow with Saskatchewan’s leading radio company, delivering local stories with strong narrative and sound design. You will report, write, and contribute across radio and online platforms while maintaining high newsroom standards in a fast-paced environment.

You should bring experience in reporting, on-air presentation, and the ability to edit for the web. Familiarity with CP Style is an asset, and a valid driver’s license for field reporting is

Qualifications

• Excellent written communication abilities with a clear, concise, audience-focused style.
• Experience adapting content for multiple platforms (radio, online, social).
• Post‑secondary education in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with on‑air presentation, interviewing, and meeting tight newsroom deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Report on breaking news and local issues with strong storytelling.
• Cover assigned beats and develop in-depth stories for radio and online platforms.
• Edit and adapt content for website and broadcast in CP Style where applicable.
• Collaborate with editors and photographers to produce engaging stories.

We are looking for news people with a passion for reporting.Passion to find stories, tell people’s stories, cover breaking news and local issues.

Ideally you have a couple of year’s experience and are looking for new challenges.This position will also involve website editing, so familiarity with CP Style is an asset.

Qualifications

• Excellent written communication abilities, including News Writing and Writing, with a clear, concise, and audience-focused style.
• Experience adapting content for multiple platforms.
• Post‑secondary education in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with on‑air presentation, interviewing, and working to tight deadlines in a busy newsroom environment.
• Familiarity with broadcast and digital news production tools, and an understanding of media ethics and legal considerations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of local and regional issues in Saskatchewan and a valid driver’s license for field reporting are considered assets.
