Now hiring newly graduated Registered Nurses / Registered Psychiatric Nurses

Whether you’re a recent graduate or still in school, you can feel secure in knowing your future home is with Island Health. We have full-time, part-time, and temporary opportunities in large urban hospitals and rural / remote hospitals – plus everything in between!

In this role, some of your duties will include:

  1. Assess, record, and report the health status of assigned patients/residents.
  2. Collaborate with the nursing team, community care partners, and the patient/resident and family to develop and modify a patient/resident care plan.
  3. Establish short- and long-term health status goals.
  4. Evaluate patient/resident response to care by assessing the effect of nursing interventions and modifying them as appropriate.
  5. Contribute to the ongoing development of the nursing department and/or nursing unit.
  6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

The hourly starting salary is $41.42, with additional shift premiums offered depending on eligibility. You are eligible for shift premiums if you own a regular line or during hours worked that include on-call, nights, evenings, and weekends. Some positions are eligible for up to a $20,000 signing bonus.

To join our team, you will have:

  • Eligibility for provisional licensure or current and active registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing RN or RPN registrant.
  • Recognized post-basic education required for some clinical areas (or equivalent).
  • Basic Life Support, Level C.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be required for some clinical settings (e.g., Emergency Room).
