  • Full-time / M-F / 40hrs per week, onsite
  • This position has been evaluated withan annual basesalary range of $60,000-70,000 CAD. The target hiring range is $60,000-65,000 CAD, ensuring room for continued growth in remuneration through annual performance and compensation reviews.

THE ROLE:

The NPI Technologist is responsible to ensure design specifications and manufacturing requirements are met before releasing new products for production. Once products are released for production, the NPI Technologist is responsible to maintain and support the ongoing requirements of released products, working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that updates and future new products continue to meet manufacturing’s needs and requirements.

Core responsibilities may include:

  • Develop and execute robust product validation testing for manufacturing trial runs
  • Participate in design reviews and define manufacturing requirements
  • Analyse changes in product design and manufacturing process to identify cost reduction measures
  • Source equivalent or substitute components as identified through materials specifications
  • Create, maintain and control documents for internal and external use in manufacturing
  • Translate complex design requirements into simple effective process instructions
  • Collect data, issues and test results and conduct analyses to improve products
  • Resolve production processes and equipment issues, escalating issues as needed
  • Support Contract Manufacturer in a timely manner in resolving materials and production issues to meet material delivery
  • Support employees to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards in work practices
  • Create training matrix in releasing new products or features of existing products


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent workplace experience in a technical environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience in a manufacturing support environment
  • Proven ability to work independently, managing priorities to meet deadlines effectively
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite of Applications and SAP
  • Experience in Desktop Publishing/MS Suite of Tools (Adobe InDesign CS/PowerPoint/Visio)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Presentation skills suitable for a technical environment
  • Positive attitude, punctuality, and solid work ethic
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and ability to pick up new skills quickly
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals and groups, both inside and outside of the organization
