Job summary

Siemens Canada is seeking a recent Engineering graduate for a New Product Introduction (NPI) project manager role in Concord, ON. You will work across R&D, production, quality, procurement, and suppliers to drive launches and transfers.

Hybrid on-site role with travel as required. The program includes mentorship, onboarding, and opportunities to contribute to manufacturing innovation while growing project-management skills.

Qualifications

What will you do?

The New Product Introduction process drives the successful development and launches of new products through a structured, stage-gate approach - from initial concept to full-scale production and market release. The role requires balancing multiple concurrent projects at different stages of the product lifecycle, from concept development through production release and sustaining activities. As the NPI project manager you will work closely with teams across R&D engineering (HW and SW) , product management, Production and Test engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, suppliers, and other key stakeholders. Parallel to new development, the NPI group also sustains legacy products, monitoring component changes, implementing engineering updates, and collaborating with quality to address issues and maintain reliability over the long term. Throughout the entire NPI lifecycle, clear communication, data-driven decisions, and a commitment to continuous improvement are critical to successfully bringing innovative products to market and maintaining a competitive edge. Within the NPI team, you will have the opportunity to work on all business-related projects relating to Manufacturing. This includes managing production line transfers between factories, quality initiatives and improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

Project Ownership & Lifecycle Management

• Take ownership of assigned projects from initial concept through to full-scale production, ensuring every milestone in our structured stage-gate process is met with precision.


• Play a pivotal role in our growth by coordinating the systematic transfer of production lines to our state-of-the‑art new facility, ensuring a smooth \"handshake\" between sites.


• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing scope, schedule, resources, and stakeholder expectations.


• Identify project risks, dependencies, and roadblocks early and drive mitigation actions to maintain project schedules.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication

• Lead cross-functional workshops and meetings with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure the receiving factory is fully prepared for incoming new products and production lines.


• Keep leadership informed through clear, concise updates on project status, proactively identifying risks and proposing creative solutions to keep us on track.


• Coordinate activities between Siemens factories, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and R&D teams to support product launches, product transfers, and engineering changes.

Technical Execution & Operational Readiness

• Oversee the technical details of line transfers, including equipment re-commissioning, process validation, and ensure the floor is \"ready to run\" on day one.


• Manage the NPI build schedule by aligning material requirements and assembly needs across Product Management, Engineering, Contract Manufacturing and other Siemens facilities.

Continuous Improvement & Strategy

• Bring a fresh perspective to our workflows by identifying opportunities to improve our project management tools and new product development.


• Evaluate project trade-offs—balancing scope, schedule, and resources to make data-driven recommendations that protect the project’s success.


• Support engineering change implementation and product sustaining activities to ensure long‑term manufacturability and reliability.


• You will be supported by senior mentors and a structured onboarding program to help you transition from university theory to world‑class manufacturing execution

What will you need to succeed?

• Recent university graduate (within 12 months) in Engineering programs with a minimum 2.5 GPA (B-)). Transcripts to be provided upon request.


• Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse, cross‑functional teams.


• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to translate data into clear presentations.


• Exposure to project management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Concept board, or similar tools is considered an asset.


• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or process optimization is a strong asset


• Completion of at least one co‑op term; familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or New Product Introduction (NPI).


• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and be present on‑site in Concord, ON as required to support project and manufacturing activities. Travel domestically and internationally as required.


• A proactive learner with a growth mindset and a passion for manufacturing innovation.

Hourly is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 33 CAD - $ 44 CAD.
