New Business Development Underwriter - Essex (Hybrid Working)

If you are an experienced P&C Underwriter with a flair for writing and developing new business, and you are looking for an exciting career opportunity with an exceptional MGA/company, then this could be an ideal career move.

This role will be based out of their Head Office in Essex (some hybrid working), where you will not be micromanaged, and a great deal of autonomy will be provided. Additionally, you will receive support from the senior management team to ensure you can maximize every possible opportunity to be successful in this role.

Due to the company going through a significant growth and development program, this is an ideal time to be joining the business, where you’ll work with the broker markets within the South and surrounding areas.

Our client has been trading successfully for nearly 20 years, and all of their products offered are placed with carefully selected Insurers (including Lloyds), where the company has built solid relationships to negotiate the best possible products for its partners.

They are looking for a broker-oriented and detail-focused Underwriter to develop both new and existing relationships. The role will include underwriting new and renewal business for a product suite consisting of commercial combined, property owners, retail package, primary liability, contract works, and contractors’ plant and equipment.

This role will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and flexibility in managing their own time.

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

• Experience in dealing with commercial brokers/insurers
• Proven track record of developing new and existing relationships with key brokers
• Ability to deliver on financial targets
• Ability to work in a team and on your own initiative
• Effective time management

Dependent on experience, the basic salary is from £40K to £55K with excellent additional staff benefits, including bonus, pension, and 45 pence per mile.
