Job summary

The Hilary and Galen Weston Foundation in Toronto, Ontario seeks a Program Manager, Neuroscience to lead grant portfolios and design neuroscience funding programs. You will work with the Director, Neuroscience, external advisors, and enterprise teams to deliver high‑quality initiatives and ensure robust governance.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in neuroscience or a related field (e.g., brain health, therapeutic development, clinical or non-clinical research).
  • Minimum of 2 years in grant/program management; if no advanced degree, 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of neuroscience landscape and patient care for neurodegenerative diseases of aging.
  • Experience in a family foundation or philanthropic org is an asset.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial acumen with idea-to-implementation ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong presentation skills.
  • Strong project management, budgeting and financial tracking skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving with ability to manage complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement neuroscience funding programs.
  • Develop calls for proposals, timelines, guidelines and review processes.
  • Coordinate review and adjudication with external experts and advisors.
  • Manage a portfolio of grants, track milestones and budgets.
  • Draft grant agreements and liaise with legal counsel as needed.
  • Support budget tracking and grant disbursement processes.
  • Plan convening activities and represent the Foundation at events.
