Position Information
Temporary position until approximately August 1, 2026.
The Network Systems Analyst 2 is responsible for performing system and network assessments within the networking environment to identify deviations from acceptable configurations, or networking policy. Other responsibilities include:
- Analyzing and troubleshooting network issues and problems using various diagnostic tools and techniques. This role focuses on root cause analysis and problem management in the network domain.
- Implementing and testing network upgrades, patches, and backups to ensure network reliability and availability
- Documenting and maintaining the network inventory, topology, and diagrams using various tools and software.
- Represent the department on the Local Delivery Group East (LDG East) committee working group and follow up on and implement assigned tasks.
Basic Requirements
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF);
- Three years Community college diploma in computer science or other equivalent;
- Three(3) years Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points);
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems;
- Experience working with cross-functional IT teams and external vendors;
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools;
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities;
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash);
- Experience in network systems analysis, network administration, or a related IT infrastructure role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three year Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or other equivalent;
- Industry certification;
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, government) is preferred.
