We are currently looking for aNetwork Specialistto join our team

What you can expect in this role:

Reporting to the Director of Global Network Infrastructure, the Network Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of our network infrastructure across global data centers. This position acts as a subject matter expert on networking protocols and equipment, offering guidance and support to network technicians while ensuring that all network components are optimized, secure, and compliant with industry standards. This role requires advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and experience with networking equipment such as Cisco, Arista and pfSense.

More specifically, here are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Network Design & Optimization
    • Manage networking solutions including pfSense firewalls, VPNs, and routing for high-performance and secure environments, ensuring reliability and scalability.
    • Provide expert advice on network architecture, routing protocols and data center interconnectivity.
    • Continuously optimize network performance by fine-tuning configurations and implementing best practices.
    • Participate in the design and deployment of new network infrastructure deployments, collaborating with various teams to ensure proper integration and scalability.
  • Network Troubleshooting & Support
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network issues related to physical and logical networking components.
    • Conduct advanced troubleshooting of packet loss, network latency, misconfigurations, and equipment failures with minimal downtime.
    • Provide detailed troubleshooting reports for incidents, outages, and problem resolutions.
  • Network Security
    • Implement, monitor, and maintain network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
    • Perform regular security assessments and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
    • Develop and maintain network security and procedures.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, topologies, and standard operating procedures.
    • Prepare reports and change requests related to system upgrades, network modifications, and incidents.
  • Monitoring & Training
    • Provide guidance and training to lower-level technicians on networking protocols, troubleshooting techniques, and security best practices.
    • Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and ensure all technicians are up to date with the latest network standards.

Here's the profile we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a data center or large-scale network environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience with networking equipment, including Cisco, Arista, and pfSense.
  • Familiarity with routing protocols and high-performance network environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive approach to learning and implementing new technologies.
  • Mastery of the work safety standards of his environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing leadership and mentorship.
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid/remote possible
