About the opportunity

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of 10+ years of Network and Security Engineering experience working across a wide range of Firewall, Security and network services, including LAN, WAN, Remote Access, SASE, and Cloud Connectivity. The candidate must also exhibit strong professional skills, including communications, self-motivated, adaptability, and dependability.

What you'll get to do

Work as a member of the Enterprise Network & Security team as a subject matter expert in firewalling. Develop and lead a comprehensive network security program including technology recommendations, processes and standards, input on policies and firewall and engineering lifecycle.

  • Champion business initiative between Architecture and Engineering teams to align with company objectives and roadmaps.
  • Design and maintain a firewall and Security operations framework for support and operations groups.
  • Serve as the firewall lead for project work and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Create and share KPI & status updates for leadership.
  • Develop vendor relations and maintain contract management.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies or changes in current standards.
  • Escalate issues for senior network resources and incident management.

Security Engineering and Administration tasks to include:

  • Build and troubleshoot Site-to-Site and Client VPN connections.
  • Build and edit firewall and security policies.
  • Build and deploy firewall and network security related systems.
  • Create SOPs for patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop Visio diagrams of security infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain documentation of firewall procedures and standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting and serve as a point of contact for escalation.
  • Complete after-hours support windows.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.

Skills and experience we value

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Independently gather requirements and translate into solutions.
  • Highly collaborative team player.
  • Availability to work off-hours during evenings and weekends, sometimes with little notice, including participation in a week-long on-call rotation.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture and technologies.
  • Experience managing security in cloud environments such as AWS, AWS VMC, and Azure.
  • Experience working with Palo Alto, Fortinet, VMware NSX-T and managing large firewall policies.
  • Experience managing Palo Alto Panorama.
  • Experience with Advanced Threat Protection features on firewalls.
  • Firewall certification such as Palo Alto or Fortinet.
  • Knowledge of SASE Technologies.
