Cogeco Inc. is seeking a Network Delivery Coordinator to oversee the implementation of network infrastructure projects. This role involves coordinating activities, conducting feasibility studies, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient delivery and compliance. POSITION SUMMARY:
In accordance with established capacity management and monitoring procedures, policies, standards and available tools, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation (design, planning and delivery) Cogeco’s network infrastructure strategic projects. The Network Delivery Specialist is accountable for proactively assessing feasibility, designing, planning and deployment of OSP infrastructure to support network expansion and capacity upgrades. All activities will provide cost efficient solutions in order to build and maintain a leading edge technology network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate all (technical) OSP activities relating to theimplementation of assigned strategic network infrastructureprojects. This includes coordination from preliminary planningto final implementation, testing and closure stages.
Conduct/coordinate technical feasibility studies to formulatepossible solutions; determine associated costs and producedocumentation for approval.
Produce high-level and/or detailed network plans for approved projects; taking into consideration optimization of the network infrastructure to meet existing/future service requirements, utilizing cost effective methods of design and implementation
Produce and/or coordinate system designs for tendering andconstruction of Cogeco’s network expansion.
Determine the scope and priority of network projects including timing, sizing and costing prerequisites (materials, labour, contractors, utilities, etc.) in order to create a projectbudget)
Provide technical implementation directions and process leadership to other cross-functional teams such as Infrastructure Delivery, Technical Operations and/or Contracted resources to delivery expansion projects.
Using the process required to manage turn-key solutions, coordinate all activities related to issuing, organising, implementing and controlling of projects to meet timelines, costs and standards.
Coordinate and ensure timely and efficient completion of construction activities by assigning work to contractors and maintaining regular contact with utilities, contractors, municipalities, etc. during construction phases.
Schedule, conduct and/or coordinate field inspections to verify compliance with design and construction specifications. Initiate and approve necessary fieldrevisions to plans to compensate for field related obstacles and/or changes in conditions.
Ensure proper system documentation by communicatingas-built information to the design department for inclusion in records management tool. Highlight field revisions to enable re-calculations by the design staff.
Monitors and reports on contractor quality, compliance and safe work practices, use of appropriate tools and equipment, including customer service related initiatives. Escalates issues as required.
Using the Contractor Governance process, monitor and report on contractor costs, compliance, safe work practices and use of appropriate standards. Review contractorbillings to validate and ensure accuracy. Escalate issues as required.
Procure materials and resources through the Oracleprocess and liaise with the Procurement/WarehouseDepartments to ensure that materials required forconstruction projects are available and correctly accounted for.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC TRAINING
College Diploma in relevant discipline or combination of equivalent education and work experience required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
5+ years’ experience in a communications planning, design and implementation related OSP systems deployment.
2 years’ experience in a CATV environment would an asset
Experience in coordinating project processes and network implementation.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Working knowledge of Internet systems, digital cable, network technology and their interconnectivity / coordination.
Ability to read and understand Network Schematic diagrams Knowledge of engineering and construction operational procedures, technologies, and systems design is preferred
Knowledge of project implementation processes andworking with cross-functional teams
Formulate optimal solution(s) while taking into account cost, timing, technology & service availability
Health and Safety Certified is preferred. Good knowledge ofH&S regulations and practices for construction is preferred.
Advanced PC skills and an intermediate proficiency in theGoogle suite and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook) arerequired.
Process oriented with solid problem solving and analytical skills.
Detail oriented (accurate/thorough). Highly organized.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experienced in effectively coordinating portions of multiple projects and working with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously, efficiently and within a predetermined time frame.
Able to “think outside the box” and see impact ofdecisions/actions. Demonstrated thoroughness, follow-up, time management skills are required.
Solid interpersonal skill with a winning customer service attitude and high level of professionalism
Able to establish positive working relationships and work in intra-departmental work teams.
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in identifyingand resolving problems independently. Ability to monitorowns work for quality is required.
Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s licence
