An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy and Salary:

Please note that this is a hybrid role based in Toronto, CAN, and will require you to work in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

The salary range for this position is $192,047 - $211,914 CAD per year. The base salary offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units will also be provided as part of the compensation package.

Wayfair runs the largest custom e-commerce large parcel network in the United States, approximately 1.6 million square meters of logistics space. The nature of the network is inherently a highly variable ecosystem that requires flexible, reliable, and resilient systems to operate efficiently.

We are looking for a passionate Platform Engineer to join the Service Lifecycle - Connectivity team at Wayfair. This team is responsible for everything that is necessary to successfully run a service or application in production at Wayfair. On the service lifecycle - connectivity team, we are responsible for managing the traffic in an out of Wayfair’s network, Cross region routing, firewall configurations and Wayfair’s network edge which includes our CDN all inbound traffic. As part of our team, you will be solving complex problems that have a direct impact on production infrastructure that powers all of Wayfair’s business.

What You’ll Do:

• Work on a team of extremely talented platform engineers to help maintain and scale the current and future state services platform at Wayfair
• Help influence the product roadmaps of GCP (our primary cloud provider) to better suit Wayfair’s future state architecture
• Drive our network evolution as a GCP-focused Cloud Network Engineer, architecting and operating robust Google Cloud networking solutions.
• Master GCP Interconnects, Cloud Router configurations (BGP, BFD, route policies), GCP Firewalls, VPN, VPC design and inter-VPC connectivity (NCC, PSC, PSA/VPC Peering)
• Build out and Support our cloud connectivity (20% scope) via Equinix Fabric and Azure (ExpressRoute/vWAN, NSGs) is also key, leveraging strong skills in NAT, IPSEC VPNs, 802.1q, and network troubleshooting.
• Work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to develop and architect enhancements to the cloud network capabilities that enable them to develop and iterate applications to power the Wayfair business
• Identify opportunities to introduce automation, improvements to avoid repetitive operational tasks (DRY)
• Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure operational excellence and overall platform health

We Are a Match Because You Have:

• 7+ years of experience in Network Engineer/Cloud Engineer roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working with IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, etc)
• Extensive experience with Networking (Routing, firewall, load balancing)
• Extensive expertise working within a Public Cloud environment (GCP, Azure, etc) and related networking concepts
• Experience working with platform observability tools (Grafana, Fluentbit, Cloud Monitoring, Google Cloud Logging, Datadog, Pagerduty, Cloudwatch, Splunk, VictorOps, etc)
• Experience and desire to work in an agile environment
• Analytical mindset and passion for solving business problems with technology

Nice To Haves:

• Experience working with CDNs (Cloudflare, Fastly, etc.)
• Experience with web protocols (HTTP, TLS, etc.)
• Experience with programming/scripting languages (javascript, python, GO, etc.)
