Job description

Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100 / 500 / 1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada / US.

We are currently looking for a Network Architect for our client, a global leader in the IT infrastructure consulting and management industry.

Role(s) Required : Network Architect

Location : Remote, Toronto, ON

Employment Type : 6 months to start, with potential for long-term contract

Required Start Date : ASAP

Total Hours Approved Per Role : 40h / week

Rate / Salary : $100 / hr - some flexibility based on experience

Summary

As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's network infrastructure. You will collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure our network is secure, reliable, and meets client needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement network architecture including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop network solutions
  • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Evaluate new technologies for network improvements
  • Create and maintain network documentation
  • Manage network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices
  • Train and mentor junior network engineers

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Network Architect or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP)
  • Experience with network security (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection)
  • Proficient in network design and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools
  • Expertise in technologies such as Cisco NX-OS, Cisco IOS, Meraki, AWS Network constructs, F5, Cisco ASA & FTD, Cisco SD-Access, ISE, Catalyst Center, Cisco Firewall & FMC, FPR series, Checkpoint, Azure, BGP, EIGRP, VXLAN, VPN
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
  • Industry certifications like CCNP or CCIE are a plus
