Network Analyst (Permanent, Full-time)
Location: Peterborough, ON (Hybrid Work Arrangement)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Rate of Pay: Dependent upon experience
Position Description
As a Network Analyst, you will:
- Install, configure, manage, document, and support wired and wireless WAN/LAN infrastructure to ensure operational excellence, security, and reliability.
- Manage and secure all networking devices such as firewalls, core switches, and routers, ensuring robust communication and device security.
- Continuously monitor, analyze, and report on network and internal systems to assess performance, availability, utilization, throughput, and latency. Monitor potential security threats, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues promptly, working closely with IS team resources as required.
- Troubleshoot network and hardware problems, escalating to vendors as required to resolve issues effectively.
- Design, implement, and manage advanced safeguards, such as 802.1x, to enhance overall security posture and protect internal systems. Continually evaluate alternative or enhanced options available as applicable to Kawartha systems.
- Assist the IT Security Officer in performing network scans, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to ensure the comprehensive security of internal systems.
- Identify, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents as an integral member of the Cyber Security Team, working to enhance Kawartha’s overall cybersecurity posture.
- Work closely with vendors, third parties, and the Information Systems team to manage and support new Information Systems initiatives.
- Provide timely support for production issues, managing escalations effectively during both regular hours and off-hours as required.
- Manage, assign, and resolve Help Desk tickets, ensuring issues are documented, addressed promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with vendors to efficiently acquire software and hardware, ensuring the best possible terms and quality for Kawartha.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience in systems analysis and administration, with a proven ability to manage and support complex IT environments.
- Previous experience in the financial industry is considered an asset.
- CompTIA Network+ (preferred) & CompTIA Security+ (preferred)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring effective task prioritization and efficient workflow.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Occasional travel to Kawartha locations as required for upgrades, installation, or system maintenance.
- Must be available for on-call duties to address urgent system issues outside of normal working hours.
