Job Summary:

The Network Administrator is responsible for managing public and private networks, testing and analyzing network facilities, and supporting LANs and WANs. This includes installing, supporting, and maintaining network hardware and software, evaluating networking products, and performing technical analyses to ensure efficient network operations. The role also involves monitoring data traffic, diagnosing and resolving network issues, and supporting server and data center infrastructure as part of the Systems Administration team. This is an intermediate-level position expected to operate independently on routine tasks and continue growing in knowledge and experience.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Design and troubleshoot site-level network equipment to optimize performance, security, and reliability, including understanding cloud network architecture.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of servers, applications, and hardware/software (e.g., Windows Server, Azure Stack HCI, Active Directory, Azure AD, M365, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS).
  • Lead and participate in site and enterprise-wide projects with minimal supervision.
  • Develop processes, policies, and procedures supporting internal controls, cybersecurity, and data protection, including ITGCs, Managed Access, Managed Operations, Change Management, Sarbanes Oxley, data backup, recovery, classification, and IT Asset Management.
  • Follow policies and standards to ensure consistent technology solutions across the enterprise.
  • Support end users and IT teams by assisting with incidents and requests.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and monitor system backups, replication, and server performance.
  • Participate in server patching, maintenance, and on-call support rotations.
Supervisory Relationships:
  • Reports To: Supervisor, Site IT
  • No subordinate positions.
Incumbent Attributes:
  • Degree or diploma in IT or related field with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment and Windows servers.
  • Experience with SD-WAN preferred.
  • Knowledge of Azure Stack HCI, M365, and backup solutions like Commvault preferred.
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications, and other relevant certifications are assets.
