Network Administrator, Data Applications

Position Description

Here's what you'll get to do

Reporting to the Sr. Manager Data Applications, the Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the infrastructure systems of the existing network with the intention of maintaining maximum availability, performance, scalability, licensing, troubleshooting, vendor support liaison, and security. The Network Administrator monitors the overall performance of the network, develops and updates network documentation, performs network systems maintenance and backups, troubleshoots and resolves systemic network problems and collaborates with internal and external peers to develop and implement recommendations for network enhancements.

Here's what you'll need

  1. Post-secondary degree/diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
  2. Minimum 3 years in the service and support of a multi-vendor, or internal, multi-protocol network
  3. Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, etc.
  4. Customer service focused with the ability to react quickly and responsively to users and production issues. Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and work with minimal supervision
  5. Involved with administering and implementing an on-premises environment
  6. Proficiency in SQL
  7. Must have scripting language experience including bash and Python
  8. Must have Unix experience
  9. Experience with Cloudera Data Platform is an asset
  10. Knowledge of Kubernetes is an asset
  11. Knowledge of Ranger policies, Atlas, Spark, NiFi is a definite asset
  12. Any of ITIL, A+, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certification is an asset
  13. Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives
