Network Administrator

JOB OVERVIEW: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Reporting to the Manager of Network Operations, this position is responsible for administering the University’s network/system infrastructure. This position will focus on Desktop and Enterprise Application Administration.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years experience in managing Windows print servers and PaperCut or other third-party enterprise print management solutions is required.
• Experience administering System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) for monitoring and alerting.
• Proficiency in packaging and administering System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and JAMF.
• Knowledge of Active Directory and GPO for managing user access and printer policies.
• Exposure to AlertUs emergency notification systems and EZProxy is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Thorough knowledge of computer/network system operations, troubleshooting, and information security best practices, including the ability to quickly grasp new concepts using new technologies.
• Excellent time and task priority management is essential.
• Excellent technical writing and documentation skills are essential.
• Good verbal communication and well-developed interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proven ability to deal effectively with others and to handle unusual or unexpected situations.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, under own initiative, and as an effective team member.
• Ability to independently organize work to achieve predetermined goals and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

SALARY INFORMATION

Annual salary increases are based on hours worked and anniversary dates.
