.NET Developer – Legacy & Modern Apps, SQL & Reports

Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Canada seeks a skilled .NET developer to support BC Hydro corporate applications and legacy systems. You will work with .NET/.NET, C#, VB.NET, and VB6/Classic ASP to maintain and enhance a range of internal applications, including Crystal Reports and SQL Server-based data tasks.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, incident management, documentation, and collaboration with onsite/offshore teams to ensure timely, secure delivery and continuous modernization.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT application development, enhancement and production support.
• Strong knowledge of .NET Framework, C#, VB.NET and Microsoft stack.
• Experience with legacy VB6, Classic ASP and MS Access is preferred.
• Proficient in SQL Server, queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with reporting (Crystal Reports) and data analysis.
• Familiar with web apps, IIS and Windows Server environments.
• Experience with source control, release management and ticketing tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements, incidents, service requests and change requests for BC Hydro Corporate / Vendor application support.
• Develop, maintain and enhance applications using .NET Framework/.NET, C#, VB.NET, VB6/Classic ASP.
• Support legacy corporate applications, including troubleshooting in VB6, Classic ASP, MS Access.
• Design, modify, troubleshoot and support Crystal Reports for reporting.
• Analyze issues, identify root cause and implement fixes within SLA timelines.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views and scripts.
• Participate in incident, problem, change and release management.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, release notes.
• Coordinate with business users, db infra and vendor teams for resolution.
• Follow secure coding and data handling guidelines.
• Support continuous improvement and modernization readiness.
