Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the 9 East Nephrology Unit on a temporary part-time basis. The role includes RN responsibilities for nephrology and medicine patients, care planning, and documentation using computerized systems.

Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, the position offers an hourly rate of $41.15–$58.98 and union protection with ONA. Applicants must have current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, BCLS, and nephrology experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BCLS certification upon hire to show proof of valid current certification.
• 2 years recent medical experience with a focus on nephrology preferred.
• Experience with Peritoneal dialysis, Continuous Ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to rotate to other departments.
• A positive attendance record.
• Demonstrated good patient assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• RN responsibilities for Nephrology and Medicine focused patients.
• Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
• Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
• Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
• Resource/team leader responsibilities.
• Preceptorship of nursing students.
