Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Attend deliveries and care for patients at any gestational age requiring NICU services.
  2. Perform surgeries in-house on weekdays to cover all neonatal services in NICU, LDR/OR, Mother Baby Unit, and Perinatal Clinic. In-house coverage is split among neonatologists.
  3. Teach residents and students; remuneration is provided for teaching activities.

Expected Hours:

  1. On-call duties are shared among neonatologists to provide 24/7 neonatal coverage. On-call responsibilities include managing very sick neonates and deliveries.
  2. On-call rotation organized equitably among neonatologists.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
