Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp., Canada is seeking an NDT Technician for a full-time, on-site role in Brampton, ON. The position focuses on eddy current and ultrasonic inspections, corrosion detection, and strict quality control to ensure compliance with industry standards.

You will calibrate and operate inspection equipment, document results, and assist with internal audits and CAPA. A high school diploma is required; additional NDT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Eddy Current and Ultrasonics inspections.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control principles and practices.
  • Experience in Corrosion detection and inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Certification in NDT techniques is a plus (Magnetic Testing & Penetrant).
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Examines parts under fluorescent or black lighting to detect surface defects under the direction of a Level 3 NDT Inspector using one of two methods: FPI or MAG.
  • Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to cleaning, etching, dwell/develop operations, inspection criteria, and record results.
  • Provide detailed information concerning processing techniques, findings, evaluation of indications, and part condition/disposition recommendations.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests using equipment and interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results.
  • Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy.
  • Cleaning and etching of production parts in preparation for inspections.
  • Application and removal of Fluorescent Penetrant Dye, dwell and develop processing in preparation for inspections.
  • Perform other assigned non-inspection functions such as racking, masking or cleaning of production parts, and provide training of such duties to Trainees and Level 1-limited Operators.
  • Assist with (and perform as required) in internal and external system audits, and CAPA implementation.
  • Will require use of PPE during tasks and comply with safety directives.
  • Will be exposed to chemicals/solvents and occasional fumes, wet/humid conditions, low-level lighting, and moderate noise level.
  • Will, at times require heavy lifting or use of mechanical hoist for lifting objects.
  • Work closely with inspectors and area leadership to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Clean, organize and maintain work area as prescribed by supervision

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Brampton, ON for an NDT Technician. The NDT Technician will perform daily tasks including conducting eddy current, ultrasonic, and corrosion inspections, as well as quality control assessments. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining accurate inspection records.

Primary Duties
  • Examines parts under fluorescent or black lighting to detect surface defects under the direction of a Level 3 NDT Inspector using one of two methods: FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) or (MAG) Magnetic Particle Inspection.
  • Reviewing and assimilating work instructions relating to cleaning, etching, dwell/develop operations, inspection criteria, and record results.
  • Provide detailed information concerning processing techniques, findings, evaluation of indications, and part condition/disposition recommendations.
  • Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests using equipment and interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results.
  • Perform receiving inspections (before processing) as needed and immediately report any damage or discrepancy.

  • Perform other assigned non-inspection functions such as racking, masking or cleaning of production parts, and provide training of such duties to Trainees and Level 1-limited Operators.
  • Assist with (and perform as required) in internal and external system audits, and CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action) implementation.
  • Will require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during certain tasks (goggles, safety glasses, aprons, boots, gloves, hearing protection, etc) and be expected to comply with safety directives and policy.
  • Will be exposed to chemicals/solvents and occasional fumes, wet/humid conditions, low-level lighting, and moderate noise level.
  • Will, at times require heavy lifting or use of mechanical hoist for the aid in lifting objects.
  • Work closely with inspectors and area leadership to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Clean, organize and maintain work area as prescribed by supervision
