Job summary

Acuren is recruiting for an NDT RT 2 Technician to support work in the Pacific Region, Prince George and surrounding area. The position offers up to 40 hours per week with possible overtime, and a hourly wage of CAD 52.81–57.36 depending on certifications.

Responsibilities include preparing radiographic testing equipment, calibrating to standards, performing inspections on welds and components, analyzing radiographs, and reporting findings.

Qualifications

  • CGSB RT Level 2 Certification.
  • CEDO Certification.
  • Additional certifications are an asset.
  • Strong work ethics and safety awareness.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • IRATA training or willingness to obtain is an asset.

  • Calibrate the equipment according to standards to ensure accurate results.
  • Verify the setup to comply with safety regulations and standards.
  • Perform radiographic inspections on welds, castings, and structural parts to detect defects.
  • Analyze radiographic images to identify defects and anomalies.
  • Document and report findings with details and impact.
  • Make recommendations for repairs or retesting based on evaluations.
  • Utilize written and verbal communication and teamwork.
  • Follow procedures to meet quality objectives and timelines.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients.

Job description

Acuren is currently recruiting for NDT RT 2 Technician to support work in the Pacific Region specifically Prince George and area. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.

  • Position can be up to 40 hrs./week and possible overtime
  • Salary range $52.81/hr. to 57.36/hr. depending on certifications as per the QCCC Agreement
  • Candidates are required to be local to Prince George and/or surrounding area
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and set up radiographic testing equipment, including X-ray or gamma ray sources, detectors, and imaging devices.
  • Calibrate the equipment according to specific standards and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Verify the setup to comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Perform radiographic inspections on various materials and components, such as welds, castings, and structural parts, to detect internal flaws, discontinuities, or defects.
  • Analyze radiographic images to identify and assess the presence of any anomalies or defects, such as cracks, voids, inclusions, or misalignments.
  • Document and report the findings, providing detailed descriptions of any defects found and their potential impact on the integrity of the tested object.
  • Make recommendations for further action, such as repairs or re-testing, based on the evaluation of the radiographic images.
  • Utilize written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
  • Follow standards and procedures and monitor to ensure accuracy of results and meets quality and safety objectives and project time-lines.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with Clients.
