Job summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a Calgary Navigation and Support Centre Lead to provide leadership and operational oversight, coordinating with ministry partners and community providers to support integrated service delivery for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Reporting to North Operations, the role involves developing NSC programming, supervising staff, and promoting effective service delivery across Calgary and potentially Edmonton as needed.

Qualifications

• University degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, or a related field plus four years of relevant experience.
• Equivalencies will be considered: 1 year education equals 1 year experience or vice versa.
• Experience with homelessness, mental health, addictions, housing instability, or related issues.
• Experience collaborating with community agencies, service providers, government partners or health providers.
• Leadership, onboarding, training, or operational coordination in a service delivery environment.
• Knowledge of the homeless-serving system of care and the Alberta Recovery Model.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Calgary location.
• Travel to Edmonton NSC may be required based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational procedures and service delivery practices within the Navigation and Support Centre.
• Facilitate worksite meetings and promote collaboration among service providers and ministry partners.
• Provide orientation and onboarding support to new teams and staff.
• Monitor site operations for service delivery issues, safety concerns, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with community agencies and government partners to support integrated service delivery.
• Provide presentations, respond to inquiries, and represent NSC at planning tables and engagement activities.
• Develop responses, briefing materials, and operational updates as requested.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships to enhance service delivery for vulnerable Albertans.

The Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction is seeking a Calgary Navigation and Support Centre Lead. Reporting to the Director, North Operations, this position provides leadership, operational support, direction, and consultation to ministry partners and service providers operating within the Calgary Navigation and Support Centre (NSC). The position supports the development and implementation of NSC programming, facilitates site operations, promotes effective service delivery, and serves as a liaison between community partners and ministry leadership. The Lead monitors site operations to identify service delivery impacts, operational issues, emerging trends, and opportunities for improvement. This position also supports the coordination of services, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative approaches to addressing the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the development and implementation of operational procedures and service delivery practices within the Navigation and Support Centre.
• Facilitating worksite meetings and promoting effective collaboration among service providers and ministry partners.

Qualifications

University degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, or a related field, plus four years of progressively responsible related experience.

Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of:

• One year of education for one year of experience; or
• One year of experience for one year of education.

• Primary work location is the Calgary Navigation and Support Centre (428 9 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta).
• Travel to the Edmonton Navigation and Support Centre may be required based on operational needs.
