When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors. This role is responsible for planning and dispatch activities controlled within the National Overland Operational Care Centre. You will work closely with the Regional Overland Customer Care Centres across Canada to ensure defined client requirements are met and/or exceeded by executing strategic transportation solutions encompassing responsibilities for carrier selection, shipment confirmation, exception monitoring and key performance indicators.

How you create impact
  • Review and action client requests received through Online Ordering systems, email and/or centralized dispatch systems.
  • Process orders in Kuehne+Nagel Transport Management System (TMS) and Visibility Systems with a high level of data quality and performance.
  • Tender shipments to approved assigned carriers and monitor progress until delivery complete.
  • Maintain track and trace updates within the Transport Management System (TMS), either monitored electronically or updated manually.
  • Provide POD's to consignees and / or customers as needed.
  • Foster positive carrier engagement practices to ensure that best in class service and rates are obtained.
  • Administer all carrier pre-qualification approvals and ensure that only KN approved carriers are used to execute Overland transportation services.
  • Assist with investigating root cause and analysis of events resulting in non-conformance activity or customer complaint.
  • Actively engage in communication with the Customer Care teams to ensure defined client requirements are met and/or exceeded.

What we would like you to bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or similar field
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role from Transportation Business Unit including Canada / U.S trans-border movements
  • Knowledge of various production and quality systems (TMS, GxP, GMP, ISO standards) will be an asset
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel)
  • Solid understanding of road freight operations, pricing, and carriers.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of North American transportation freight networks
  • CIFFA certification is an asset.
