Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking a National Property Claims Adjuster for its Customer Response - Property team. This role offers comprehensive training and a hybrid schedule, with flexibility for some Saturdays. You will settle claims by phone, work with vendors, and ensure quality service.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in claims, strong customer service, excellent communication skills, and proficient computer abilities. English/French bilingualism is a plus, with additional language assets noted.

Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years claims insurance experience or insurance call center or customer service experience in any industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support customer demand.
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Excellent computer skills and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a bigasset.
  • Knowledge of Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean & Punjabi is a bigasset.
  • Licenses for claims adjusting in any provinces is a bigasset.

The Opportunity

We currently have some exciting roles for National Property Claims Adjusters for our Customer Response - Property team.

We offer a comprehensive training program so if you don't have a background in insurance but have strong customer service experience we will train you!

Aviva recognizes the importance of being flexible and the benefits of being together, this role will hybrid – the best of both worlds.

Must be able to work rotating shifts during the hours of 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Friday, and have flexibility to work some Saturdays only if needed.

You will be responsible for claim settlement via telephone with a key focus on quality and customer service. The successful candidate will work with premiere property vendors to quantify the claim and apply cost saving guidelines in the quantification of loss and expense without compromising the delivery of superior customer service.

What You’ll Do
  • Support our claims customer demand through a call-center environment
  • Investigate and negotiate property claims in accordance with Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines
  • Responsible for confirming coverage and compiling FNOL information for incoming claims
  • Responsible for data accuracy and the issuance of payments to vendors, insureds and experts
  • Review and compile facts, policy, and technical reports, analyze estimates, value of claim and negotiate/settle claim accordingly
  • Effectively advise and counsel customers on claim status, provide prompt and exemplary customer service and while keeping related parties informed of the claims status
  • Responsible to ensure all correspondence is completed in a time efficient/effective manner including the creation of Critical Path, Proof of Loss and reservation of rights letters etc...
  • Responsible for recognizing questionable claims, subrogation and risk opportunities
  • Also responsible for reviewing case law to determine liability.
  • Meets Property team performance expectations that are set individually and contributes to team success
  • Adheres to and supports policies surrounding attendance

What You’ll Get
  • The salary band for this position ranges from $50,000 – $60,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity
