Description:

Sani Marc is looking for a National Logistics Director to lead and transform its logistics operations and supply chain across Canada. With multiple warehouses from coast to coast and production facilities in Quebec and Ontario, we are undertaking a major consolidation process and implementing a new ERP system to enhance efficiency and integration.

The National Logistics Director is responsible for the planning, strategic direction, and optimization of logistics operations nationwide. This role sets guidelines and priorities for all warehouses and distribution centers, in collaboration with local teams. The Director ensures the efficiency of transport and delivery networks, optimal inventory management, and the overall performance of the supply chain, while meeting goals related to availability, cost, and service quality.


Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
1. Logistics Strategy Development
  • Define and implement a national logistics strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.

  • Standardize logistics processes across all facilities.

  • Optimize goods flow organization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

2. Warehouse and Distribution Management
  • Oversee storage and material handling operations across all sites.

  • Ensure warehouse capacity is optimized and safety standards are met.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics efficiency.

  • Implement and enforce operational standards to ensure national consistency.

3. Transportation and Vendor Management
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and logistics service providers.

  • Ensure effective coordination between transportation partners and internal teams (Operations and Procurement).

  • Analyze and optimize transportation costs to improve profitability.

4. Inventory Optimization and Forecasting
  • Collaborate with the demand planner to develop forecasting models to anticipate needs and avoid stockouts.

  • Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure effective stock level management.

  • Supervise inventory and implement continuous improvement processes.

5. Supply Management
  • Manage and optimize supplier order processes and stock replenishment strategies.

  • Evaluate and improve service levels from both internal warehouse teams and external suppliers.

  • Design and implement strategies to enhance supplier performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency, in collaboration with the Purchasing team.

6. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.

  • Participate in the implementation of technological solutions, including ERP and WMS systems.

  • Ensure training and development of logistics teams to maintain a high level of expertise.

7. Compliance and Safety Management
  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with current regulations.

  • Implement practices to improve employee health and safety.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards and company policies.



Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Experience in multi-site operations and managing complex environments.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems for supply chain management.

  • Strong skills in inventory management, transportation planning, and logistics process optimization.

  • Ability to analyze data and make performance-based decisions.

Behavioral Competencies
  • Strong leadership and team mobilization skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • High problem-solving capacity and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
