  • Participate in workplace incident investigations.
  • Assist leaders in identifying root causes and developing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities for preventative action.
  • Support leaders in learning from incidents and preventing recurrence.

Training & Education

  • Deliver health and safety training and awareness programs to leaders and employees.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on their safety responsibilities.
  • Support the development of practical safety communications and resources.
  • Promote employee awareness and participation in workplace safety.

Claims & Return-to-Work Management

  • Manage workplace injury and occupational illness claims across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate claim reporting, ongoing claims management and required documentation.
  • Educate employees and leaders regarding workers' compensation processes and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate return-to-work planning and support appropriate accommodation processes.

  • 3–5 years of progressive health and safety experience, preferably in a multi-site operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting hazard assessments and participating in incident investigations.
  • Experience providing safety advice and coaching to managers and frontline employees.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

What Success Looks Like

We are looking for someone who:

  • Builds credibility and trust with operational leaders.
  • Can translate legislation and safety requirements into practical actions.
  • Is comfortable challenging unsafe practices respectfully and directly.
  • Helps leaders take ownership of safety rather than doing it for them.
  • Identifies risks before they become incidents.

  • Can balance compliance with a practical, business-minded approach.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
