LOCATION : While this position is remote you must reside in the Toronto Area

The Mining Sales Representative is a key contributor to Astec’s strategic growth in the mining sector, focused on promoting and selling capital equipment and solutions—particularly paste backfill batching systems and mixers. This role requires strong technical acumen, mining industry knowledge, and relationship-building capabilities to identify and influence project opportunities early in the development cycle.

You will work closely with mining companies, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firms, and consulting engineers to deliver tailored, high-value solutions across the full project lifecycle. Success in this role means being a trusted advisor who can translate technical requirements into actionable, value-driven solutions that align with client needs and project timelines.

  • Identify and qualify capital project opportunities in the mining industry at early stages.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with mining companies, EPC firms, and consulting engineers.
  • Conduct technical presentations, including "lunch and learns," to educate stakeholders on Astec’s paste backfill systems and mixing solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and proposal teams to develop customized solutions and proposals.
  • Position Astec as a preferred supplier in the mining market by emphasizing technical differentiation and value delivery.
  • Track capital project timelines and align sales efforts with procurement cycles and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and execute territory plans to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the CRM system.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mining, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in capital equipment sales within the mining sector or heavy industrial markets.
  • Experience with paste backfill batching or mixing systems.
  • Existing network of contacts in mining and engineering consulting communities.
  • Deep understanding of mining processes, project development lifecycles, and backfill systems.
  • Proven ability to build long-term technical and commercial relationships.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills; comfortable with technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a consultative selling approach.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% (domestic and international as needed).
