The National Account Manager, Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) shares responsibility for achieving retail and net sales objectives for Canadian retail distribution through the effective development and management of retail sales, promotional activity, and distribution. They partner closely with Shoppers Drug Mart to build marketing strategies, secure marketing exposure, negotiate premium placements and promotional support that enhances product visibility and drives sales. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto.

What You’ll Do :

Retail Strategies and Partnerships :

  • Manage relationships with key retail partner teams (Category & Inventory).
  • Develop and implement sales and distribution strategies to achieve retail budget goals.
  • Identify and negotiate new point-of-sale opportunities.
  • Secure promotional exposure within retail partners.
  • Collaborate with E-commerce Account Manager for integrated marketing plans.
  • Develop financial sales and supply plans for new product launches.
  • Forecast sales for new products, promotions, and events.
  • Implement markdown strategies as needed.
  • Manage weekly / monthly sales reporting and analysis.
  • Manage P&L and budget for sales objectives.

Inventory Management :

  • Communicate inventory needs to retail partner teams.
  • Monitor SKU levels and optimize inventory balance.
  • Manage discontinuations and phase-outs.

Marketing and Events :

  • Plan and execute yearly events strategy and budget.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to maximize event impact and sales.
  • Deliver seasonal marketing presentations to retail partners.
  • Collaborate on planogram updates and SKU management.
  • Work with Visual Merchandising on promotional assets.
  • Manage Till Point program.

Qualifications :

  • 3-5 years Account Management experience
  • University / College degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to analyze sales results and identify factors relating to business opportunities and risks.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to project manage and coordinate all aspect of account activities.
  • Strong understanding of P&Ls and robust budget management.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing changing priorities and deadlines to meet account and project needs. Ability to influence all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility to travel within Canada and the US is occasionally required.
